Fournier, Mooney Lead Pittsfield Boys to Road Win

BENNINGTON, Vt. -- Greg Fournier and Liam Mooney each won two races Wednesday to lead the Pittsfield High boys swimming team to an 89-66 win over Mount Anthony Union.
 
Fournier won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 2.69 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.80.
 
Mooney won the 200 individual medley in 2:24.42 and the 100 butterfly in 1:01.45.
 
Pittsfield also got wins from Danny Fitzgibbons in the 500 free (6:31.56) and Lucas Godwin in the 100 backstroke (1:16.87).
 
Zach LaForest won the 100 free (:56.59) and the 50 free (:24.54) for the Patriots.
 
The Generals captured two of the three relays. In the 200 medley relay, Godwin, Fournier, Mooney and Hayden Plouffe teamed up for the victory. In the 400 free, Fitzgibbons, Godwin, Evan Dempsey and Fournier combined to finish first.
 
In the girls meet, Olivia Douhan and Szofia Lewis were double winners to lead Pittsfield to a  119-51 win.
 
Douhan won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:31.34 and the 100 butterfly in 1:20.44. Lewis won the 50 free in :27.56 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.87.
 
Pittsfield also picked up wins from Nora Miller in the 200 individual medley (2:45.12), Abby Marsh in the 100 free (1:02.82), Emily Taylor in the 500 free (6:45.72) and Jordan Bradford in the 100 back (1:13.80).
