Pittsfield Boys Track Takes Two at Hoosac Valley

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Grady Pedersen won four events Friday to lead the Pittsfield boys track and field team to an 87-54 win over Mount Greylock in a tri-meet at Hoosac Valley.
 
Pedersen won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.1 seconds and swept the jumps.
 
He won the long jump in 19 feet, 9-¼ inches, the triple jump in 41-2 and cleared 5-6 in the high jump.
 
Emmanuel Amenlemah won the 100 (11.8) and the 200 (24.0) for the Generals.
 
Mount Greylock’s Owen Brandriss won the 800 (2:06.2) and the discus (110-02).
 
Hoosac Valley’s Dominic Acquista won the shot put with a mark of 39-9.
 
Pittsfield beat Hoosac Valley, 128-13, and Mount Greylock beat Hoosac, 129-10.
 
In the girls meet, Mount Greylock defeated Pittsfield, 90-56, and the Generals topped Hoosac Valley, 102-38.
 
Dagny Albano was a double-winner for the Mounties, taking the javelin (94-10) and the shot put (27-8-¼).
 
Mount Greylock’s girls swept the 2-mile run, where Sonia Glab (12:45), Niku Darafshi and Helen Greenfield were 1-2-3.
 
Aliyah won the 100 in 13.4 and the 200 in 26.9.
 
For Hoosac Valley, Lilly Boudreau finished second in the 400 in 1:06.5, just behind Mount Greylock’s Ella Dudley (1:05.1).
