Lenox Girls Sweep Podium in Team Win
WINDSOR, Mass. – Mary Elliot Wednesday led a 1-2-3 sweep for the Lenox girls as they took a commanding team win in the Berkshire County Nordic League’s meet at Notchview Reservation.
Elliot finished in 16 minutes, 44 seconds, eight seconds ahead of Grace Elliot. Their teammate, Aidan Burns, placed third in 17:34 to help the Millionaires finish with 15 team points, well ahead of runner-up Mount Greylock (30 points).
The Mounties were led by Lily McDermott, who finished fourth, and got top 10 finishes from Anne Miller and Cornelia Swabey.
Oliver Swabey won the boys race to lead the Mounties to a team victory.
He finished in 14:47, three seconds ahead of runner-up Justin Levesque of Hoosac Valley.
Mount Greylock’s boys finished with 20 points; Wahconah was the runner-up with 35 behind a third-place finish from Fritz Sanders.
Mount Greylock’s boys placed four racers in the top 10. Teague Murphy and Jude Bakija placed fifth and sixth, respectively, and Quinn McDermott placed eighth.
The league finishes the regular season on Saturday at Mount Greylock ahead of next week’s State Championship meet.
