CHICOPEE, Mass. -- The fifth-seeded Paulo Freire volleyball team turned out to be too much for Lenox in the Division 5 State Tournament's Round of 32 on Friday afternoon.

The Millionaires (9-13) saw their season come to an end in a 25-7, 25-10, 25-10 loss.

"Despite the time we spent on serve receive drills and tweaking our system, our defense just couldn’t get a handle on the Panthers’ wicked float serve," Lenox coach Steve Laurin said. "Even when viewed from the sideline, the ball looked like it was heading in one direction, and then it would suddenly change."

Senior captain and libero Anna Nealon finished with eight digs and two kills from the back court.

"I’m proud of our team," Laurin said. "Despite the significant number of errors, no one blamed another. They gave their all on every play. They left that court supporting each other like sisters."
