Lenehan, Lenox Punch Ticket for State's Final Four

YARMOUTH, Mass. -- Rory Lenehan battled to a hard-fought win at first singles, and the Lenox girls tennis team swept the doubles points Sunday to earn a 3-2 win over St. John Paul II in the the Division 4 State Tournament Quarter-Finals.
 
Fifth-seeded Lenox (18-1) earned the right to play No. 1 Hamilton-Wenham (20-1) in the state semi-finals.
 
Lenehan took the court in the day's final match, which proved to be the decisive point in the quarters.
 
After taking 1-1/2 hours to win the first set, 7-6 with a 9-7 win in the tie-breaker, Lenehan fell behind, 3-0, in the second set.
 
Then, the Millionaires' No. 1 roared back to take that set 6-3 and secure the team win.
 
Lenox also got wins in straight sets from its doubles teams of Nicole Illingsworth/Katie Shove and Charlie Keator/Julia Zanin.
