Wahconah Boys, Lenox Girls Finish First at Notchview

WINDSOR, Mass. – Owen Tucker raced to a first-place finish Monday at Notchview Reservation to lead the Wahconah boys ski team to a team victory in the Berkshire County Nordic League.
 
Tucker finished 10 seconds ahead of the field. He was joined in the top 10 by teammate Chaz Mahar, who placed eighth overall.
 
Amherst’s Calvin Miller was the runner-up, followed by a pair of racers for Mount Greylock, Luke Irwin and Andrew Holland, who helped the Mounties finish second in the team standings.
 
Mount Greylock also finished second in the girls race, behind Lenox, which pulled out a six-point win behind Jane Elliot, who finished second. She was joined in the top 10 by Millionaires Allison Rivers-Lussier and Catherine Welch, who placed fifth and eight, respectively.
 
Mount Greylock’s Bridget Holland won the girls race, finishing 44 seconds ahead of Elliot and the rest of the field.
 
Wahconah did not post a girls team score, but Megan Tucker posted a sixth-place finish.
 
The high school Nordic league returns to action on Wednesday with a race at Wahconah.
