Lenox Wins on Road to Advance to Elite 8

BOURNE, Mass. – Katie Shove and Julia Zanin came from behind to win at first and second singles, respectively, Tuesday to lead the Lenox girls tennis team to an upset win over Bourne in the Division 4 State Tournament Round of 16.
 
The Millionaires got a straight-set win in a competitive third singles match from Caity Giardina and a relatively easy 6-2, 6-2 victory at second doubles from Lauren Romano and Brooklyn Butler.
 
Three of the five matches were decided in the third set.
 
After upending the tournament’s No. 7 seed, Lenox (18-0) gets to go back on the road for the state quarter-finals, where it will take on No. 2 seed Manchester Essex at Endicott College on a day to be announced.
