Lenox Girls, Boys Earn Two Wins Apiece
DALTON, Mass. – Nora Schoeney took first place on Wednesday at Wahconah High School to lead the Lenox girls cross country team to a three-point win over Monument Mountain on the final day of dual meets this season.
The Millionaires won a pair of duals behind Schoeney, who covered the course in 19 minutes, 55 seconds, more than two minutes ahead of the rest of the field.
Hannah Carhart, Sussanah Schoeny and Leah Basnet all placed in the top eight for Lenox, which also beat host Wahconah.
Monument Mountain’s girls took a three-point win of their own, edging Pittsfield, 26-29. The Spartans were led by Nina Martin and Maeve Murray, who finished third and fourth, respectively.
Margaret Hall finished second to lead PHS.
Lenox’s boys joined their girls team with a 2-0 day in duals. Ben Harwood, William Keefe and Ivan Healey finished second, third and fourth, respectively, to lead the Millionaires in wins over Monument Mountain and Wahconah.
Pittsfield’s Cohen Zahn paced the field with a time of 17:22, 12 seconds ahead of Harwood in second.
The Generals, however, split their duals, beating Monument Mountain but falling to Wahconah.
The Spartans were led by Peter Fields, who finished 16th.
Wahconah celebrated Senior Day with a win behind Lake Kittler and Brayden Ryan, who finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
The members of the Berkshire County League now turn their eyes to Oct. 24 and the Berkshire County Invitational, the last meet before the Western Massachusetts Championships in November.
