Lenox Girls Cross Country Sweeps Top Three Spots at Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Three Lenox girls finished in the top four on Wednesday to lead the Millionaires to a pair of dual meet cross country wins at Monument Mountain.
 
Ellen Huth (19 minutes, 31 seconds), Maggie Sorrentino and Marion Huth finished second, third and fourth, respectively, to lead Lenox.
 
The top girl in the field was Monument Mountain’s Grace Phair, who won with a time of 19:21.
 
Phair’s teammate, Jasmin Johannsdottir, rounded out the top five. And then came a pair of Wahconah runners: Haley Crosier (20:41) and Gabrielle Orlando.
 
Phair led Monument Mountain to dual meet wins over Hoosac Valley and Wahconah. Huth and the Millionaires defeated Wahconah and Lee.
 
Hoosac Valley’s best finisher was Natiya Cili (23:48) in 16th place. The Lee Wildcats were led by seventh-grader Anna Martin, who placed 27th in 25:39.
 
In the boys race, Lenox’s Ted Yee and Ryan Silverstein placed first and second. Yee crossed the finish line in 17:59; Silverstein was just behind in 18:03.
 
They led the Millionaires to a dual meet win over Lee. The Wildcats got a fifth-place finish from Sebastian Dowd-Smith (18:43).
 
Host Monument Mountain saw Spartans Peter Larochelle (18:10) and Mike Goretti finish third and fourth, respectively.
 
Wahconah’s P.J. Pharmer placed sixth with a time of 19:01, and Hoosac Valley’s Justin Levesque (23:54) was 57th.
 
Boys team scores: Wahconah 15, Hoosac Valley (no score); Monument Mountain 15, Hoosac Valley (no score); Lenox 18, Lee 45.
 
Girls: Monument Mountain 15, Hoosac Valley 47; Lenox 15, Lee 50; Monument Mountain 21, Wahconah 40; Lenox 19, Wahconah 42.
