Drury Beats Westfield Tech in Western Mass Semis

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Noah Arnold went 3-for-4 with a triple, and Carson Rylander was lights out on the mound Thursday as the top-seeded Drury baseball team advanced to the finals of the Western Massachusetts Class C Tournament with a 5-1 win over Westfield Tech.
 
Drury earned a third meeting with crosstown rival McCann Tech, which beat Greenfield, 5-4, on Thursday in the other half of the bracket.
 
The two teams will play on Tuesday to decide the regional championship.
 
Drury won the two regular season meetings by scores of 5-1 and 3-1.
 
On Thursday, Arnold paced the offense at the top of the lineup and scored a pair of runs.
 
Connor Hinkell went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Lucas Hamilton drove in a pair of runs.
 
Rylander struck out 10 and allowed one earned run in 6 and one-third innings of work. Arnold took over in the seventh and struck out one in closing out the game.
 
Drury improved to 16-3 with its 13th straight win.
