Lescarbeau Pitches Drury Past Monument Mountain

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Alan Marceau drove in a run in a three-run fifth-inning rally that sent the Drury baseball team on to a 5-1 win over Monument Mountain on Tuesday.
 
Nicholas Lescarbeau struck out six and walked just two in a complete-game win on the mound as Drury snapped a five-game losing streak in its first action in a week.
 
It was 1-1 going to the bottom of the fifth, when Connor Hinkell led off with an infield single.
 
Dylan Crockwell singled to put two aboard for Lescarbeau, who reached on an error that also allowed Hinkell and Crockwell to score.
 
Marceau’s line drive single to left drove in Lescarbeau to make it 4-1.
 
Lescarbeau went 1-for-4 and scored a pair of runs to help his cause. Zach Davignon and Anthony Pettengill each had a single in the win.
 
Arthur Labrie doubled and drove in a run for the Spartans.
 
Monument Mountain used three different pitchers in the loss. Owen Wade took the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) in two innings of work.
 
The Spartans (4-5) host Pittsfield on Wednesday.
 
Drury (3-5) hosts Hoosac Valley on Friday.
