DeBenedetto Delivers Game-Winner for Hornets

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Noah DeBenedetto hit a two-out single to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth Monday as McCann Tech earned an 8-7 win over Lee.
 
The Hornets scored three runs in the sixth to come from behind, snap a two-game skid and improve to 9-6 on the season.
 
Nick Gilman started the winning rally with a one-out single.Collin Booth then bunted his way aboard.
 
With two out, Lukas Rylander grounded into a fielder’s choice that allowed Gilman to score and sent Booth to third.
 
Josh Livsey singled to left to drive in Booth and tie the game, 7-7.
 
After Austin Buda worked a walk to load the bases, DeBenedetto drove in Rylander with the winning run.
 
Livsey gave up a one-out walk in the bottom of the bottom of the seventh but closed the door with a groundout to Aaron Livsey at short and a swinging third strike to end the game.
 
Josh Livsey earned the win on the mound with 4-? innings of shutout relief, striking out seven, walking two and allowing one hit.
 
He also helped his cause by going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Buda also doubled and drove in a run.
 
William Thomson led Lee’s offense, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
 
Lee (3-11) goes to Lenox on Wednesday.
 
McCann Tech goes to Smith Vocational on Tuesday.
