Pope Francis Tops Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Cole Miller went 2-for-4 with a triple and a pair of RBIs Wednesday to lead the Pope Francis baseball team to a 9-6 win over Taconic.
 
Andrew Niemiec earned the win on the mound, striking out 11 and allowing four earned runs in six innings of work.
 
Ed Ferris hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the seventh, and Gavin Maffuccio singled with two out.
 
But the Cardinals were able to get the final out on a fly ball to center field.
 
Gavin O’Donnell went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Mafficcio also went 2-for-4.
 
Taconic (5-6) is at Wahconah on Friday.
