GREENFIELD, Mass. -- Cedric Rose went 3-for-4 with a triple and five RBIs, and Anton Lazits threw six innings of relief Wednesday to send the Taconic baseball team to a 15-4 win over Easthampton in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.

Lazits struck out six and allowed just two earned runs in relief of Rose, who gave up five walks and a run in the first.

Lazits had a 2-for-3 day at the plate, driving in a pair of runs. Christian Womble went 2-for-2, doubling and scoring four times.

Brendan Stannard also doubled, and Michael Kays had three RBIs.

First-seeded Taconic (18-4) moves on to Saturday afternoon’s sectional final at the University of Massachusetts, where it will meet second-seeded Frontier, an 8-5 winner over Monument Mountain on Wednesday evening.

Taconic last year won the Division 1 Western Mass title en route to a state championship.
