Hoosac Valley Baseball Tops Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Henry Sniezek and John Krol combined on a three-hitter as the Hoosac Valley baseball team Thursday earned a 6-1 win over Monument Mountain.
 
Sniezek struck out seven over five innings before turning the ball over to Krol, who pitched two innings of hitless relief.
 
At the plate, Sniezek went 2-for-4 with a double. Joe Degere also doubled in a 2-for-3 day at the plate.
 
Zachary Swistak was 2-for-3 and drove in three runs.
 
For the Spartans, Sam Cormier was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. He also went 6-⅓ innings on the mound, striking out five.
 
Monument Mountain (2-2) hosts Mount Greylock on Monday.
 
Hoosac Valley (2-3) hosts Pittsfield on Monday.
