LUDLOW, Mass. – Derek Paris went 2-for-4 with a triple and a pair of RBIs Friday to lead the Mount Greylock baseball team to a 17-2 win over Ludlow.

Anthony Welch went 3-for-4 and drove in a pair, and Landen Jamula had three RBIs for the Mounties, who put the game away with a 13-run fifth inning.

Paris got the win with four innings of two-hit ball, striking out five. Jackson Shelsy allowed one unearned run in one inning of relief.

We have to get prepared for Monument now on Monday,” Mount Greylock coach Rick Paris said after his team improved to 14-3. “That will be a huge game for us, and we should have at least two of our top pitchers available. So we like our chances.

“The kids know how big this game will be toward our power rankings and trying to get a top seed in the state tourney, so we hopefully won’t have to do much traveling, if any.”
