Monument Mountain Baseball Advances

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Gus Luf and Jack Bissaillon combined to strike out eight on Monday and lead 12th-seeded Monument Mountain to a 4-2 win over Monomoy in the first round of the Division 4 State Tournament.

 

Bissaillon went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the eight-hit Spartan attack.

 

Monument Mountain got the winning run in the bottom of the third inning, when Bissaillon’s double to center field drove in Owen Odermatt, who had reached on a two-out single.

 

Monument Mountain (14-7) advances to go to No. 5 Millbury on a date to be determined.
