Wyatt Homers in Monument Mountain's Win

DALTON, Mass. -- Ben Wyatt’s solo home run highlighted a nine-hit attack for Monument Mountain Saturday in a 5-2 win over Hoosac Valley in the first round of the Wahconah Tournament.
 
Nate Cormier went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a pair of stolen bases, and Jared Henry struck out seven in 5-⅔ innings of work on the mound to earn the win.
 
For Hoosac Valley, Jack Sniezek went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and John Krol was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Noah Matrigali and Krol combined to strike out seven and allow just two earned runs.
 
Monument Mountain moved on to face host Wahconah in the title game. Hoosac Valley (1-2) faced Monson later on Saturday.
