Forfa Pitches Wahconah Past Spartans in Tourney Finale

DALTON, Mass. -- Ethan Forfa delivered a dominating performance on the hill and joined an eight-hit attack at the plate as the Wahconah baseball team Saturday won its tournament and extended its three-game winning streak with a 9-0 victory over Monument Mountain.
 
Forfa struck out five and walked two while allowing two hits in 6-⅓ innings to get the “W.”
 
He helped his cause with a 2-for-4 day at the plate that included a double and four runs batted in.
 
Will Genaway went 3-for-3 with an RBI and stole three bases, and Joe Woronick was 1-for-1 with three walks and three runs scored.
 
Wahconah (3-1) avenged its only loss of the season to date, a 5-2 defeat in Great Barrington. It is back in action again on Monday against Mohawk Trail.
 
Monument Mountain (2-1) goes to Hoosac Valley on Monday.
