Seventh-Inning Rally Trips Monument Mountain in State Tourney

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA, Mass. – Manchester Essex scored two runs on a two-out error in the bottom of the seventh Wednesday to earn an 11-10 win over Monument Mountain in the Division 4 State Tournament Round of 16.
 
The Hornets rallied for four runs in their last at-bat to complete their comeback victory.
 
Monument Mountain led most of the day, scoring five in the second to take a 6-1 lead and two in the fourth to go ahead, 8-3.
 
Jayder Raifstanger went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs, and Cole Bissaillon drove in a pair of runs for the Spartans (17-5).
 
Arthur Labrie, Owen Wade and Jayder Raifstanger split time on the mound, combining to allow just three earned runs.
