Springfield Central Baseball Edges Pittsfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Aiden Archeval struck out 10 in 6 and two-thirds innings Tuesday to lead the Springfield Central baseball team to a 4-1 win over Pittsfield.
Eduardo Villafane and Nathan Pok each homered for Central.
Morrie Fried hit a solo home run for the Generals.
Jason Codey took the loss on the hill for Pittsfield, striking out seven over five innings of work.
“Tough road loss against a good team,” Pittsfield coach Drew Pearce said. “Codey kept us in the game but besides Fried’s second homer of the year, we didn’t capitalize offensively with runners on .”
Pittsfield (6-2) goes to Minnechaug on Thursday.
