Taconic's Lazits Wins Opener over Rival Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Anton Lazitz and two other Taconic pitchers combined on a three-hitter in a 6-1 opening-day win over Pittsfield on Thursday.
 
Lazits went four innings on the mound, striking out seven, walking four and allowing one unearned run.
 
Sam Sherman and Matt Lee finished up, striking out three apiece. Lee struck out the side in order in the bottom of the seventh.
 
Bo Bramer drove in a pair of runs for Taconic. Adam Lazits went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI,and Leo Race tripled and scored a pair of runs.
 
Chase Racine drove in a run for Pittsfield. Christian Marchbanks Connor Lavinio split time on the mound for the Generals, allowing just one earned run.
 
Pittsfield (1-1) hosts Monument Mountain on Tuesday. Taconic hosts Wahconah on Thursday.
