Rindfuss Throws Two-Hitter as Generals Advance in State Tourney

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Patrick Rindfuss threw a complete-game two-hitter, and Chase Racine doubled twice Saturday as the Pittsfield baseball team earned a 6-0 win over Wilmington in the Division 3 State Tournament.
 
Rindfuss struck out four and walked just two while lowering his earned run average to 2.20 this spring and winning his fourth game.
 
Racine went 2-for-2 with an RBI and continues to lead the Generals offensively, hitting .462 with 27 RBIs.
 
Walker Abdallah singled and drove in a pair of runs, and Nick Brindle went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk in a seven-hit Pittsfield attack.
 
The Generals (12-9) advance to meet Taconic on Monday afternoon in the state tourney’s Round of 32.
