Pittsfield Tops Minnechaug Behind Sime on Hill

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Cam Sime struck out 12 and allowed one unearned run in six innings of work Thursday to pitch the Pittsfield baseball team to a 5-3 win over Minnechaug at Clapp Park.
 
Nick Brindle hit a double and drove in a pair of runs for the Generals, who also got a double from Jake Duquette on a day when the teams combined for nine hits.
 
Pittsfield took the lead for good with a four-run third inning.
 
Jackson Almeida got things started with a leadoff single. Brindle’s two-run double gave Pittsfield a 2-0 lead. Tommy Mullin and Morrie Fried each drove in a run to push the margin to 4-0.
 
Pittsfield (6-3) is back at Clapp Park on Saturday afternoon to face Taconic.
