Shepardson Pitches Lenox Past Hornets in Class C

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Brendan Armstrong hit a two-run triple in the top of the eighth to lead the Lenox baseball team to a 7-4 win over McCann Tech in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class C tournament on Tuesday.
 
Max Shepardson singled to drive in Armstrong and give the Millionaires an insurance run.
 
Shepardson also earned the win on the mound, striking out six.
 
Armstrong went 4-for-5 in a 13-hit attack for Lenox, which rallied from a 3-0 deficit after five innings to tie the game.
 
Michael Butler went 2-for-5 with a double, and Cliff Flynn, Zach Nicotra and Michael Butler each had a pair of hits.
 
Aaron Livsey went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for McCann Tech, which got two hits apiece from Collin Booth and Noah DeBenedetto.
 
Fifth-seeded Lenox (12-7) moves on to Thursday’s regional semi-final against Smith Vocational at the Northampton Arcanum.
