BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -- The Brattleboro boys lacrosse team scored six second-half goals to earn a 9-2 win over McCann Tech on Friday.

Ryan Tyler scored five for the Colonels, who wore down a Hornets squad dealing with early season injuries.

"Our depth was tested tonight with some key players out due to injury and sickness," McCann Tech coach Paul Lange said. "We gave it everything we had, but in the end we didn’t take care of the ball, took too many penalties, and really only tested the Brattleboro goalie a few times. I was very pleased with our effort and how we are improving on the defensive side of the ball."

Keegan Dellaghelfa and Rylie Fortinie combined to make eight saves for McCann Tech (1-2), which got goals from Colby Ghidotti and Zavier Martin-Levesque.

"Darius Tovani, Evan Knapp, Zavier Martin-Levesque, and Jason Knapp were warriors playing almost the entire game at midfield, and they played hard in a position that requires much more rest in between shifts than what they got, not to mention on back to back nights," Lange said.

McCann Tech gets a little rest this weekend before going to Pathfinder on Monday.
