WESTFIELD, Mass. — The McCann Tech boys lacrosse team Thursday overcame a 6-0 first-half deficit to earn a 9-8 win over St. Mary's.

Darian Tovani and Jason Delisle each scored four goals, and Keegan Dellaghelfa made three saves to earn the win.

"We came off the bus sluggish in this one, but St. Mary's deserves a lot of credit for a great start to the game," McCann Tech coach Paul Lange said. "We controlled most of the third quarter and brought it to within three. There was a big change in our confidence, and we settled into the game.

"Darius Tovani dominated the face-off game in the fourth, which allowed us to play 'make it, take it,' and finish the comeback."

The Hornets took a 9-7 lead before St. Mary's tightened up the game with 30 seconds left.

McCann Tech (5-4) hosts Granby on Thursday.
