PALMER, Mass. -- Jason Knapp had a hat trick Thursday to lead the McCann Tech boys lacrosse team to a 6-5 win over Pathfinder.

“The team worked well today on boxing out and working together to secure loose balls, something we struggled with a bit [in a Tuesday loss],” McCann Tech coach Justin Kratz said.

Seneca Bolte had a goal and an assist, and Tyler Petit and Evan Rose each scored a goal.

“The defense played well with Jordan Callahan working very hard on defense and Tyler Petit going coast to coast with a defensive pole goal for his first high school goal,” Kratz said.

Rylie Fortini made six saves to earn the win in goal.

“We were very short handed and had only 12 guys with some of our top scorers unavailable due to injury but the guys played tough and secured a good road win after a long bus ride,” Kratz said. “Pathfinder is never an easy place to drive to and get a W in any sport so it was a good win for the team tonight. The whole team played hard and we got good contributions from some of our younger players who stepped up to give us a much needed win.”

McCann Tech (4-2) hosts Monson on Tuesday.
