Hoosac Valley Boys Lax Earns Tourney Berth

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Casey Meczwyor scored five goals, and Matt Hall added four as the Hoosac Valley boys lacrosse team punched its ticket for the Western Mass tournament with a 13-5 win over Lee on Saturday.
 
The Hurricanes (8-3) trailed, 3-2, at half-time, but outscored the Wildcats, 11-2, in the second half for Hoosac Valley’s seventh straight win.
 
Nick Waterman scored three goals and assisted on three more, and Josh Paree had three assists in the win.
 
Lee got a pair of goals from Jake Purcell and a goal and two assists from Connor Parkinson.
 
Tighler Andrews stopped 16 shots in the Lee goal.
 
Cam Alibozek made 10 saves to earn the win.
 
Hoosac Valley goes to Mount Greylock on Monday.
 
Lee (5-5) visits Chicopee on Monday.
