CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Emma Meczywor scored four goals and assisted on one more Thursday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team to a 9-6 win over Pittsfield.

Karyssa Charon and Lauren Davis each scored twice, and Emily Godfrey stopped six shots to earn the win in goal.

“It was tough to get going today after an emotional win yesterday at Lee,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. “But I’m proud of the kids for finding ways to create offense. Mallory Mazzeo (one assist) was stellar on defense and created a great deal of offense for us. I’m also extremely proud of this young team for exceeding season goals.”

Pittsfield got four goals from Ashley Armstrong and 10 saves from Hannah Kickery.

Hoosac Valley (5-4) goes to Mount Greylock on Monday.
