WESTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Emma Archambault had a hat trick Wednesday to lead the Hampshire girls lacrosse team to a 10-9 overtime win over Hoosac Valley.

Ashlyn Lesure and Lauren Davis each scored three goals for the Hurricanes, who got two goals from Karyssa Charon and a goal and an assist from Emma Meczywor.

"A very even, physical game - back and forth," Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. "We struggled with ground balls today and, unfortunately, had two goals called back. Maryn Cappiello, once again, shut down their top scorer, and Kennedy Whitley made some key saves at the end.

"It just wasn't our day for the win."

Whitley made six saves for Hoosac Valley (12-3), which awaits its first round opponent in next week's District 1 Western Massachusetts tournament.
