Lesure Late Game-Winner Caps Canes' Comeback

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Ashlyn Lesure scored with four seconds left to complete a 15-14 come-from-behind win for the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team on Tuesday.
 
“This was an amazing game and comeback for our team,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly West said. “We were down, 14-11, with about four minutes to go. We won the last five draws with Lauren [Davis], Emma [Meczywor] and Ashlyn [Lesure] on the circle.
 
‘The girls showed tremendous heart and perseverance all over the field to pull this one out.”
 
Davis finished with a game-high seven goals and assisted on one more.
 
Jacinta Felix had a hat trick, and Lesure and Meczywor each scored twice.
 
Kennedy Whitely stopped seven shots to earn the win in goal.
 
Hoosac Valley (10-3) goes to Monson on Wednesday.
