CHESHIRE, Mass. – Emma Meczywor had a monster day and surpassed another milestone Friday as the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team rolled over Granby, 24-13.

Meczywor scored eight goals and set up six more to pass the 500-point mark for her career.

Her classmates Ashlyn Lesure, Maryn Cappiello and Jacinta Felix carried the scoring load for the Hurricanes, who capped a 13-2 regular season.

Lesure finished with eight goals and five assists. Felix and Cappiello scored four goals apiece.

“It’s been a pleasure watching them grow over their careers,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly West said of the seniors. “Ashlyn was instrumental on draws. Jacinta was our spark. Emma found great cuts/open shots. Maryn used the crease effectively. Proud of them in their last regular season home game.”

Cameron Lovato and Kennedy Whitley again split the game in goal, combining to make nine saves.

The Hurricanes wait to learn who they will play in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class C Tournament.
