HARVARD, Mass. -- Sophia Turchetta scored nine goals Friday to lead the Bromfield girls lacrosse team to a 19-7 win over Wahconah in the Central/Western Massachusetts Division 2 quarter-finals.

Emmy Cote scored once and set up three goals, and Perin Genaway and McKenna McIlquham each scored a pair for Wahconah (17-5).

“The Bromfield team showed us that they definitely deserve the number one seed,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “Their skill level and relentless pursuit definitely caused us to turn the ball over way too many times.

“When we started to transition better and pass the ball more quickly we did have success, but at that point they had already done their damage.”

Bromfield (18-3) moves on to face fourth-seeded Grafton (18-3) in the sectional semi-finals.
