SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Hannah Bowlby scored seven goals Monday to lead the Wahconah girls lacrosse team to a 17-6 win over Pope Francis in the quarter-finals of the Central/Western Massachusetts Division 2 tournament.

Jilly Cote scored four times, and Kaeli Talora had a hat trick and two assists in the win.

But the big firepower came from Bowlby.

"She came into the game with a career total of 95 points," Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. "Her 100th point came in the third quarter and she was able to celebrate this milestone with her teammates. She has been working so hard this year, so to see her achieve this in a playoff game was extra special."

Chloe Accardi scored twice, and Ava Massaro had a goal to round out Wahconah's scoring.

Sydney Smith stopped five shots to earn the win in goal.

Fifth-seeded Wahconah (9-2) goes back on the road Wednesday to face No. 1 Bromfield (15-0), a 19-2 winner over Chicopee Comp on Monday.
