HARVARD, Mass. -- The reigning Central/Western Massachusetts Division 2 champion and top-seeded Bromfield girls lacrosse team Wednesday ended Wahconah’s season with a 17-5 decision in the sectional semi-finals.

Hannah Bowlby recorded a hat trick, and Jilly Cote and Chloe Accardi each scored a goal in the loss. Sydney Smith stopped seven shots in the Wahconah goal.

“Yes we lost in the semi-final to an extremely talented team, but we played a great game,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “This group of seniors left it all out on the field and they have had an impressive year.

“We will surely miss their talent and leadership. They have left a mark on this program for the underclassmen to strive for.”

Bromfield (16-0) moves on to Friday’s Central/Western Mass final against Mount Greylock (9-2), a 15-5 winner over Granby on Wednesday.
