DALTON, Mass. – Phalyn Renderer made nine saves, including the 200th of her high school career, as the Wahconah girls lacrosse on Tuesday beat South Hadley, 9-3.

Anna Doyle had a hat trick, and Ava Massaro and Olivia Roberts scored two goals apiece on a night when Wahconah’s present and future came together.

“Tonight was a very eventful night,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “It started off with our youth night, having our youth program participate in the lineups and then games at halftime.

“Then Phalyn Renderer needed 1 goal to reach the 200 saves milestone. She did that midway through the first half and she did a stellar job in net.”

Dakota Casella and Lexi McNally each scored a goal, and Paige Trager registered an assist in the win.

“Tonight the team worked well together,” Budaj said. “Ava Massaro did a phenomenal job with ground balls and creating opportunities by causing turnovers.

“It was nice to see everyone contribute in so many ways.”

Wahconah (5-5) goes to Mount Greylock on Friday.
