Pittsfield Girls Lacrosse Wins Third Straight
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Lily Ferris scored six goals Tuesday to lead the Pittsfield girls lacrosse team to a 7-2 win over Lee.
“Lily Ferris, on offense, is coming into her own and finding better shot selections/finishes,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said. “She is a hard-nosed student-athlete and is leading this team in many ways.”
Asia Smith-Moody had a goal and an assist, and Adriana Soasti set up a goal on a day when the Generals overcame a short bench and nasty playing conditions to win their third straight.
“Not the prettiest game of lacrosse and both teams should be credited for getting through” West said. “Lily Ferris and Addie LaFerriere were tremendous on the draws and Adriana Soasti is growing into a fabulous leader and rock of the defense. Jaliyah Perez controls transition at the top of our defense to slow things down.”
LaNiyah Gregory stopped seven shots to earn the win in goal.
Ashley Sonsini scored both goals for Lee, which got eight first-half saves from Riley Bennetch.
The Wildcats host Southwick on Friday.
Pittsfield (3-1) is at Smith Vocational on Monday.
