Lee Scores Late to Beat Drury

LEE, Mass. – The Lee softball team Monday scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to open a two-run lead and held on for a 6-5 win over Drury.
 
Bri Lynch struck out 15 to earn the win in the circle as the Wildcats qualified for the state tournament with their 10th win.
 
Lynch ended the game by snaring a line drive to strand a runner at third base in the top of the seventh.
 
She also helped her cause offensively by going 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs.
 
Julianna Schuerer tripled and drove in a run, and MaKayla Schuerer went 2-for-3 with a double in a six-hit Lee attack.
 
Arianna Rivard went 4-for-4 and crossed the plate three times for Drury, which got a triple from Maddie Saunders and a 2-for-4 day at the plate from Brooke Bishop.
 
Michelle Wood took the loss in the circle for the Blue Devils, striking out three, walking eight and allowing five earned runs.
 
Drury (13-3) goes to McCann Tech on Tuesday.
 
Lee (10-6) hosts Smith Vocational on Wednesday.
