Lee Loses Heartbreaker in Softball Tourney

MONSON, Mass. – Molly Szado struck out nine and scattered five hits Wednesday to lead the Monson softball team to a 1-0 win over Lee in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class D Tournament.

 

Brianna Lynch went the distance in the circle for the Wildcats, striking out 10.

 

Lynch also led Lee with a 3-for-3 day at the plate.

 

The Wildcats (9-8) will finish the regular season against an opponent to be determined.

 

Fourth-seeded Monson moves on to face the winner of Wednesday night’s game between Turners Falls and Ware.
