Lee Softball Ace Heading to Fitchburg State

LEE, Mass. – The Lee High school community Wednesday celebrated Brianna Lynch’s plan to attend and play softball at Fitchburg State University.

 

In a brief ceremony in the high school gym, the Lee senior, surrounded by teammates and family members, signed a commitment letter to join the Falcons’ program.

 

Fitchburg State this spring went 7-32 overall and 3-11 in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference.

 

Lynch, who recently recorded her 900th career strikeout for the Wildcats, has a 10-8 record in the circle with a 2.16 earned run average.

 

Lee Wednesday received the No. 22 seed in the Division 5 State Tournament, where it will open tournament play against a familiar foe, No. 11 Lenox. In the regular season, the Millionaires beat the Wildcats by scores of 6-0 and 4-0.
