NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The Drury softball team Sunday rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to earn a 9-8 win over Mohawk Trail in the Division 5 State Tournament’s Round of 32.

Kaley Bushika started the winning rally by drawing a leadoff walk. She then moved up on a wild pitch and went to third on Maddie Saunders’ sacrifice bunt.

Ariana Rivard singled to score Bushika and went to second on an error. The visitors then intentionally walked Brooke Bishop to put two runners on for Olivia Perry.

A passed ball and an error allowed Rivard to come around and score and sent Bishop to third base before Perry delivered an RBI single to tie the game, 8-8.

Emily Lyons, Perry’s courtesy runner, moved up on a wild pitch and scored when Marley Brothers reached on a two-out error to give the Blue Devils the lead for good.

Drury junior Bishop went 2-for-3 with a double, including the 100th hit of her high school career.

Rivard and Norah Wood each was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs to drive Drury’s offense. Maddie Saunders was 2-for-3, and Perry had a pair of hits.

In the circle, Perry struck out 10 and allowed five earned runs to get the complete-game win.

Eighth-seeded Drury (16-5) is home on Wednesday against the winner of Monday’s game between Westfield Tech and Oxford.
