GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Hali Cartmill went 3-for-4, and Katie Booth went the distance in the circle Thursday to lead the Drury softball team to an 11-5 win over Monument Mountain.

Mackenzie Dobbert was 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, and Anna Dix, Jacqueline Moulton and Caitlin Tatro each doubled for the Blue Devils.

Booth struck out seven and walked five to get the win.

Abbie Wade led a 13-hit Monument Mountain attack, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Grace Fosser went 2-for-4 with a double.

Rhianna Louw took the loss in the circle; she was hurt by six Spartans’ errors that led to three unearned runs.

It was the second time this season a late Monument comeback bid came up short against Drury.

Back on April 22 in North Adams, the Spartans scored six times in the top of the seventh in a 16-11 loss. On Thursday, Monument Mountain scored three times in the bottom of the seventh and had runners on first and second when Booth picked up the game’s final out on a called third strike.

Drury (2-6) goes to Pittsfield on Friday.

Monument Mountain (4-4) is at Lenox on Tuesday.
