LUDLOW, Mass. – Julia Devoti went 5-for-5 with a pair of doubles Monday to lead the Mount Everett softball team to a 17-9 win over Ludlow.

In the circle, Devoti struck out seven and allowed just five earned runs in a complete-game win.

Stella Lennex was 4-for-5. Emily Steuernagle was 2-for-3 with a triple and a pair of RBIs, and Emily Gilmore was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs in a 23-hit attack for the Eagles.

“We started the game with two quick runs, went into a little funk the next couple of innings, which Ludlow was able to capitalize on and jump out to a 5-2 lead,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “The girls were resilient and dug in, which was great to see. We kept battling at the plate. A couple of those errors today were absolute rockets hit, but playing with injuries and player call ups today was fun to watch.”

Mount Everett (4-6) goes to Hoosac Valley on Thursday.
