Mount Everett Softball Holds on for Win at Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Jaclyn Derwitsch and Gwendolyn Carpenter each went 3-for-5 to lead the Mount Everett softball team to a 14-10 win over Taconic on Monday.
 
The Eagles scored six runs in the top of the second thanks in part to a Carpenter triple.
 
Taconic then rallied for five in the home half of the fourth to get within a run at 8-7.
 
But the Eagles hung up a three-spot in the fifth thanks to singles from Lauren Edwards, Devon Galli, Derwitsch and Marion Devoti.
 
Faith Angell struck out five and walked six on her way to a complete-game win in the circle.
 
Payton O’Connell went 3-for-4, and Ellie Christopher walked three times and scored twice for Taconic (3-11), which goes to Drury on Tuesday.
 
Mount Everett (9-7) goes to Lenox on Tuesday.
