Mount Everett Softball Downs Monument Mountain

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Faith Angell struck out seven and scattered three hits Thursday to lead the Mount Everett softball team to an 11-1 win over Monument Mountain.
 
The Eagles improved to 10-7 with the win, clinching their berth in the Western Mass tournament with three games left to play.
 
Gwendolyn Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a double, and Marion Devoti was 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Eagles, who got a 2-for-4 day at the plate from Jaclyn Derwitsch.
 
Mount Everett goes to Pioneer on Wednesday.
