SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Julia Devoti struck out 10 and walked none Monday to pitch the Mount Everett softball team to a 4-1 win over Ware.

Aliyah Creamer doubled and drove in a run, and Emma Goewey went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored twice in a seven-hit Mount Everett attack.

The Eagles went ahead, 3-0, with two runs in the third inning, when Goewey singled to drive in Tonilyn Smith and Creamer doubled to center field to drive in Goewey.

“The girls keep playing solid softball, relying on great pitching, sound defense, and timely hits when needed,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “Even when we do make an error or mistake the girls are really quick to pivot and move on from that mistake. Credit to Ware tonight as well as they battled and never gave up during the game. They had some quality plays in the field and limited would-be base hits to outs.”

Mount Everett (3-0) goes to Southwick on Thursday.
