Ostrander Leads Taconic Softball on Road in Opener

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Taylar Ostrander went 5-for-5 with an RBI Thursday to lead the Taconic 
softball team to a 13-12 win over Mount Everett.
 
Taconic (1-0) scored a run in the top of the seventh to break a 12-12 tie after the Eagles (0-1) rallied for four in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game.
 
Jenyka Ostellino went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Mary Lee struck out two while allowing 10 hits and five walks to earn the win.
 
For Mount Everett, Gwendolyn Carpenter went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Faith Angell took the loss in the circle after striking out four while surrendering 10 hits and five walks.
 
Mount Everett goes to Lee on Tuesday, when Taconic goes to Bennington, Vt., to take on Mount Anthony.
