WESTFIELD, Mass. – Shea Hurley struck out 19 on Wednesday to lead the Westfield softball team to a 5-1 win over Wahconah.

Wahconah got on the board in the top of the seventh, when Elena Iovieno led off with a double and came home on an RBI single from Casey Wilson.

“A great effort by the entire team today,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. “Westfield is an excellent team and we competed throughout the game. Wilson and [Taylar] Hickey threw well and we played solid defensively.”

Wilson and Hickey combined to allow just two earned runs in the loss.

Wahconah (7-8) hosts Greenfield on Friday.
