Lagess Leads Hoosac Valley with Monster Day at Plate

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Genevieve Lagess Tuesday went 4-for-4 with three home runs and nine runs batted in to lead the Hoosac Valley softball team to a 22-3 win over Mount Greylock.
 
Lagess doubled in her other at bat, collecting 14 bases in the six-inning win.
 
Izabela Tart went 3-for-4  with a solo home run.
 
Gracelyn Wright went the distance on the mound, striking out eight and walking two.
 
Mount Greylock got a 3-for-3 day at the plate from Audrianna Pelkey and a solo home run from Kaleigh Jaros, who went 2-for-3. Lydia Gaudreau doubled and drove in two runs in the loss.
 
The Mounties (1-7) host Drury on Thursday.
 
Hoosac Valley (11-0), the second-ranked team in Division 2 in the inaugural MIAA in-season power rankings, hosts No. 8 Lenox on Friday.
